Income-based housing provides an opportunity for quality housing with rent based on household income (subsidized). We are proud to offer several opportunities to households with that need. A designation of “Elderly” property means that qualified applicants must be 62 years of age or older or disabled.
Machias (Washington County)
Jerrold’s Place Apartments: This is a 16 unit complex with (1) 3BR, (12) 2BR and (3) 1BR apartments. All of these apartments are subsidized. Heat & hot water are included. There are coin-operated laundry facilities on site. No pets allowed.
Ridgeview Apartments – “Elderly” property: This is a 28 unit complex with 1 & 2BR subsidized apartments. There are (8) units with heat and hot water included and (20) units with electric heat (residents are responsible for their electricity; please remember that the average cost of the electric bill is taken into consideration when determining the rental amount). Coin-operated laundry facilities on site. Small pets such as a dog or cat allowed, up to 20 pounds full grown, with a pet deposit. Animals such as snakes and birds are not allowed.
Shiretown Apartments – “Elderly” property: 20 unit complex with 1 & 2 BR subsidized apartments. Residents are responsible for their electricity – it is electric heat, please remember that the average cost of the electric bill is taken into consideration when determining the rental amount. Hale Street Apartments – “Multi-family housing” : 14 unit complex with (12) 3BR and (2) 4BR apartments. All of these apartments are subsidized. Whim Station Apartments, Phase I: This is a 24 units complex with (4) 1BR, (16) 2BR and (4) 3BR apartments. All of these apartments are subsidized. Whim Station Apartments, Phase II: This is a 24 unit complex with (8) 1BR and (16) 2BR apartments. Within these 24 units, 18 are subsidized and 6 are basic rent. Basic rent is $804.00 for a 1BR and $897.00 for a 2BR. Heat and hot water are included in the rental amount. Residents are responsible for their electricity. These units all have washer/dryer hook-ups in the apartment. No pets allowed.
Pembroke (Washington County – between Machias and Calais)
Country View Apartments – “Elderly” property: 16 unit complex with (2) 2BR and (14) 1BR apartments. All of these apartments are subsidized. Heat & hot water are included.
